What is it all about?
The directory that is a must for brides and businesses.
Today, I am talking about our directory of local wedding specialists. For couples getting married, this is a fabulous resource. It is consistent, easy to use and provides great contacts for local businesses. The directory is made up of businesses we have established a great working relationship with, they have supported us, in turn we support them! We do this by sharing their social media status, publishing blog posts and we also recommend suppliers in our directory to the brides that we meet at Wedding Fayres…and we do attend a lot!
At KTB HQ we put the directory to the test and discussed some of the reasons why it works, and why we love it so much!
What differentiates the directory from the vast majority of web based directories?
We wanted the directory to be associated with the whole brand and our ethos is strongly built on trust and building relationships. We want brides and businesses to get to know the people running the show and so its incredibly important to be marketing this tool at the exhibitions we attend. The directory is called ‘The Little White Book’ and all contact details are published in each issue of the magazine.
In September the website directory will be enhanced, whereby each business will receive their own individual profile page. Since social media plays such a big part in business communication and marketing, we decided to include an individuals Twitter or blog feed featured on their profile. Therefore when a customer goes to your profile page, they will be able to see what you are Tweeting. We think this will make your profile page look more dynamic and engaging, almost like your own web homepage.
How will the directory benefit my business?
We know that wedding fayres remain the most popular form of marketing vehicle; people love the opportunity to get in front of potential customers to try and create a great impression. However what happens when the wedding fayre is finished and the wedding enquiries you discussed are still another year or so away from coming to fruition? Kiss the Bride magazine is a fabulous marketing tool for your business, through our strong brand, we create events so that couples remember us! We provide the magazine and the website, so that there is a focal point for brides and couples to return to when a contact has been forgotten or to find that elusive business from 12 months ago, whose card can’t be found. It can be infuriating; just this week I have had brides emailing for details of businesses that exhibited at Great Ayton in April.
We are passionate about the businesses in our LWB and connecting them with local brides. We recognised very early on that it was important that our website was mobile friendly. More and more people use their phones and tablets to surf the net, so we wanted to make sure they had the same experience, as if they were accessing via a desktop. There is nothing more frustrating than a website that doesn’t load quickly on your phone. We are therefore committed to continuously improving the services we provide and will be looking to introduce features to the directory that will benefit you.
It is just a directory, is it worth the money?
Yes absolutely, it is great value for money! There are many directories that are free but this is a great ‘local’ resource backed up by a magazine and on the ground marketing. If you have a limited budget, this is a great way to start your marketing, 12 months advertising on a website, contact details published in a bi-annual magazine and the promise of that all important back up with our blog and social media presence.
