Chelsea and Derek McGurl met through mutual friends and were married on 4th September 2016, with a classy silver sparkle and Disney baby pink theme.
The bride wore a gorgeous Mermaid gown, with a train that made Chelsea look like she was literally walking on Cloud 9! Her bridesmaid wore alternative dresses, with three maids wearing full length baby pink while two maids wore similar gowns but with a silver sparkly v-neck and cap sleeves. Derek and his groomsmen wore matching tailored three-piece grey suits with pink ties.
One of the memorable moments of the wedding day was Chelsea having to remove her shoes during the ceremony, “I had to take my shoe off at the altar as I was too tall and then I couldn’t get his ring on as his hands had swelled”.
The bride and groom created a lot of features themselves for the reception, including the table centrepieces, a memory ladder and name cards. They chose their table plan to be pure Disney, with the Disneyland castle and hung upon a white decorative twig tree. The guests were also treated to custom-made sparklers and flip-flops to dance the night away in.
Reflecting on their day, Chelsea and Derek remembered the special moment of walking down the staircase as Mr and Mrs McGurl, while also laughing at the best man’s speech. “The best man’s speech was memorable,” said Chelsea, “[he] got his bum cheek out to show everyone that tattoo he got on the stag!”
