Just outside the quaint village of Great Ayton, nestled in 14 acres of stunning views, is a charming new wedding venue – Wray’s Barn. Set on a beautiful green surrounded by weeping willows and cherry blossom trees – plus a peacock or two – walking up to the new venue feels like you’re suddenly swept back to a simpler time where you don’t even feel the need to instagram that passing peacock.

As soon as you step into the barn all your senses are suddenly engaged. The smell of the fresh wooden beams and the sounds of smooth jazz alongside the sight of the stunning views outside the large windows. The touch of only the finest cotton set out on rustic tables and of course the delicious taste of a welcome cocktail.

It may be freshly built, but the barn already feels like part of the Whinstone View family. By bringing together traditional craftsmanship and modern materials, they have created a wonderfully warm, charmingly rustic setting for your natural country wedding.

Available with or without a Civil Ceremony, Wray’s Barn will seat up to 160 guests (75 people max for a civil ceremony), keeping your big day a little more intimate.

Whinstone provides ample circular tables complete with decadent gilt spindle back chairs and neutral soft furnishings or if you really want to get into the countryside swing of things they can even provide gingham-covered hay bales! There’s a dance floor awaiting your first dance and whether you want to get the party started or just add a little ambiance, the sophisticated sound system has you covered. Heading up the fully equipped bar area hangs a signature one-of-a-kind Mason Jar chandelier surrounded by plenty of weathered wood pieces.

Not only is the bar charmingly rustic but so are the quirky cocktails where the talented mixoligists blend classics with a modern twist. Separated from the dining area, the open beam ceiling, warm wooden floor and red carpet entrance form the backdrop of your ceremony. You can also let nature roll in with full-length folding doors opening onto the surrounding lawns with an impressive view of the Whinstone Willow. The versatile space of Wray’s Barn offers a multi-functional venue for all you blushing brides who want something that little bit different – whether you’re a Vintage Vixen or a Boho Babe.
