The Launch of “The Fold”.
Having visited the Raithwaite Estate previously for an indulgent spa session, I knew the hotel oozed a sort of modern, sleek take on Luxury Country Retreat with an opulent but welcoming atmosphere, filling you with an “I-don’t-want-to-leave” feeling of calmness.
Intimate and cosy, tucked away on the front of Sandsend just before Whitby, I knew that I was in for a treat when Kiss The Bride were invited to the opening evening of the Estates new Luxury Cottages on Friday 29th November!
Perfect for Honeymoons, girls breaks away or as a treat for the Bride and Groom, seven stone built bespoke Cottages have been lovingly finished to an incredible specification, sitting among 100 acres of breathtaking wooded ground.
Individually named and styled, featuring titles such as Jasmine Cottage and Pheasant House Cottage, the collective known as The Fold all offer something unique and charming, with differing hospitality and services, from those tailored towards a girls trip away, a short family break, or the ultimate in luxury: Discovery Cottage, the Estate’s flagship Lodge. With a hot tub on the way, the sheer elegance is unrivalled.
On arrival at the Raithwaite Estate, aside from their impressive yet personal structure, I was first hit by how passionate and in-love with the Cottages the staff are. The excitement for this new venture really is evident; and what a thing to be proud of.
I was met by Julie France, the Estate’s Corporate Sales Manager, Joseph Warren; the Director of Sales and Marketing, and Sasha Cullen the Wedding Co-Ordinator, and given the tour. Each Cottage was inviting with the offer of mulled wine, champagne, hot chilli and other winter treats, which added to their snug-a-bility. Furnished with luxurious silks in the curtains and bedding, accessorised to the highest degree and twinkling by candlelight, I can think of no finer place for a Bride to prepare with her ladies the evening before the wedding, or for the Bride and Groom to retreat to after the hectic whirlwind of The Big Day.
Discovery, the flagship and ultimate luxury experience, is available with Butler Service, and a (rather handsome) Executive Chef to prepare dinner for the lucky residents.
With natural finishes in texture and colour, the Cottages bring a touch of the surrounding woodland to the interior. Each piece has been lovingly selected to compliment the mood of the Cottage, highlighting the space and light in each room. Twinkling candles and beautiful finishing touches really added to the mood.
The Hotel also plays host to an immaculate and luxurious spa – perfect for an girls-only pre-wedding pampering session, or an indulgent start to a Honeymoon. Whether you want to swim off a hearty breakfast, sip Champagne by the pool with a magazine, or bubble away in the hot tub, you’ll feel wrapped in luxury. With a range of exciting and intriguing treatments and therapies by qualified therapists, the Estate really does offer everything for the perfect break.
The Big Day
Raithwaite Hall also offer bespoke wedding packages in their personal Raithwaite Suite. Complete with private bar and terrace, the room is perfect for a couple wanting exclusivity and top level personal attention during the planning stages and on the Big Day itself. Accommodating up to 140 guests, the room is also available for civil ceremonies.
