Lisa Beedle and David Verrill tied the knot last October in what they describe as an amazing day at the beautiful Grinkle Park Hotel nestled in the North York Moors near Easington, Saltburn by Sea.
The couple, from Loftus, had been friends for years before they fell in love and chose to hold their special day at the country house hotel because of its personal touch, high standards, beautiful grounds and relaxed atmosphere.
Here Lisa, 27, a nurse and David, 28, who works for First TransPennine Express, from Loftus, east Cleveland, share more details of their big day just for Kiss The Bride readers.
Day, date and time of your wedding and where you were married: We got married on 26th October 2013 at 1pm at Grinkle Park Hotel.
How did you meet each other?: We were long term friends that fell in love!
Tell us about the proposal?: It was a low key proposal, just the two of us at home!
What the bride wore: Lisa’s dress was Galina by Jonathan James Couture which she bought at Sorelle bridal boutique in Sedgefield.
Bridesmaids: Maid of honour was Lisa’s twin sister Amy Beedle, 27, and bridesmaids were Nicola Arkless, Laura Jones, Kelly Winspear, Alexandra Burton and Julie Fawcett, all 27, 15-year-old Chloe Cook and flower girl Isabelle Winspear, two.
Ushers: Shaun Winspear, 28, and Lisa’s brothers Marc, 29, Ross, 23, and Sam, 15.
Best Man: Dan Burton, 27.
The wedding ceremony was at Grinkle Park as well as the wedding breakfast and the evening reception. We chose to have the full ceremony at Grinkle Park as we wanted an informal relaxed atmosphere for the full day. Neither of us are particularly religious therefore opted for a civil ceremony instead of a church. The couple had 80 day guests and 180 for the evening reception, the wedding was held in the hotel’s Palmer Suite.
Why did you choose Grinkle Park for your wedding?: We chose Grinkle Park as we have attended functions there before and thought the service and atmosphere was amazing. The surrounding grounds are lovely. David has worked there in the past and knows how high a standard is delivered from Grinkle Park. We found the best thing about the hotel as a venue is that the whole hotel is exclusive to guests therefore we were free to ‘mingle’ around the hotel as we wished. (Grandparents chose to sit in the bar away from the band!) the grounds are lovely as well and therefore provide some amazing photo opportunities.
The Honeymoon: For the Honeymoon we flew to Costa Adeje in Tenerife for 10 nights.
What was the best thing about your big day and what will you remember most about it? The whole of the wedding day was amazing from start to finish! The actual ceremony has to be the most memorable part, it was perfect and exactly how we planned it (except my little emotional outburst whilst saying my vows!)
Would you recommend Grinkle Park to other couples and if so, why? We would definitely recommend Grinkle Park to other couples, so much so that my brother and his fiance are having their wedding breakfast/reception there this May. Richard and the staff at Grinkle provided us with the best service we could ask for. Richard was involved in a few surprises along the way (it was my Dad’s birthday on the wedding day and we organised a cake etc with his help!). Whenever we had questions/problems emails were replied to almost instantly! We were never made to feel like an inconvenience. The evening reception was bouncing from start to finish – the dance floor was never empty. We had a band on the evening called Johnny and the Moondogs based in Middlesbrough who were awesome. The food at both the wedding breakfast and the evening reception was amazing (as expressed by every guest I have spoken to about it!) and the staff were very efficient, polite and helpful. Reception staff were extremely polite and accommodating particularly with guests staying over at the hotel.
