Bunting is a key trend at any celebration; it’s the perfect match for a rustic meets vintage theme. Here we show you how to make no sew bunting using hessian and decorated in whatever style you wish. The beauty about this is that no sewing skills are required for this simple wedding diy project.
We love the way you can use bunting and garlands to decorate your wedding venue, be inspired with this bunting haul we found on ETSY.

Step 1:
Print out your chosen words onto a sheet of card and cut out the inside of the letters to create a stencil using scissors or a crafting knife.
Step 2:
On another piece of card, cut out a triangle, (Length – 15cm, Length – 20cm)
Step 3:
Measure out your hessian. It should roughly be a multiple of 15cm, depending on how many triangles you will be creating. We are making 6 triangles, so our hessian is just over 90cm in length. Height wise, your hessian will need to be just over 40cm.
Fold the hessian in half. This will create strength in your bunting. To create a more noticeable crease, iron the material. Place your triangle template onto the hessian, with the fold at the top of the triangle. Draw around each template, leaving a small gap between each one.
Step 4:
Pin the two halves of the hessian together to keep it sturdy. Cut out each triangle, securing a pin into the corners of the newly cut triangles to keep them together.
Step 5:
Place the stencil on each triangle and paint over it. Another way to do this is by placing a template of each letter under the first layer of the hessian and tracing over with a marker. Allow each triangle to dry.
Step 6:
Order the triangles on a solid surface and measure out the twine. The longer the better. Unfold each triangle and place the twine in the crease of the fold. Run a line of glue down both edges of the triangles, leaving a gap at the top so the twine has room to move. Fold over the triangle.
Step 7:
Decorate your bunting however you wish. We have used a cute lace trim to match the white paint.
