Ox Pasture Hall…Our little bit of luxury
I have to admit to being a bit giddy with excitement after the weekend’s luxury stopover at Ox Pasture Hall, Scarborough. The thought of a night away with only adults for company had me packed up and ready for the off weeks ago! Ox Pasture Hall is a 4 star boutique hotel, a luxury country house retreat which really is perfect for romantic getaways, weddings and special occasions. If you are on the look out for a wedding venue in Yorkshire with an excellent star rating and a barn that is pretty much a blank canvas you can style, then you better read on…
It was late Friday night when we arrived and we were greeted by GM – Lynsey Fletcher and shown to our suite, we absolutely loved the room, it was spacious and styled beautifully. The hotel has 32 beautiful rooms altogether – the magnificent Lady Edith Suite has 4 windows overlooking the front gardens, with a four poster bedroom, lounge and luxury bathroom with corner bath, as well the best views of Raincliffe Woods. The Helmsley suite is the largest room with 2 bedrooms, a lounge and luxury bathroom. We stayed in the Wetherby suite which boasted a stylish lounge, two windows with lovely views, TVs in both rooms and a beautiful bathroom with a fab walk-in; we really were in complete luxury. We were the last of the dinner guests – no surprise there! However, there was no rush we relaxed in the bar before being shown through to dine in The Courtyard Restaurant.
I could dedicate a whole post to the food on its own, it was absolutely exquisite. We managed 3 courses!! Each was presented flawlessly and to perfection, it was a work of art and it really felt as if the chef had put heart and soul into each element; you could almost forgive some slip up so late on Friday night but no, this was served perfectly! We loved the details, the portion sizes were just right and it was all served hot – my shortbread tasted so fresh, it could have just been baked minutes earlier.
The sun was shining gloriously on Saturday morning and after a sumptuous Yorkshire breakfast we took the opportunity to explore in more detail. Set in 17 acres of stunning grounds, including their beautiful enchanting gardens and breathtaking views across the North Yorkshire moors, it felt like we were a million miles away from real life. We especially loved the way that the venue had used so much of its gardens providing private gazebos and terraces so you could relax away from other guests. The setting is so serene you would be surprised to learn that Scarborough is only 2 miles away. It’s obvious that Lynsey and the team are very passionate and proud of Ox Pasture Hall and I am pretty certain we were treated as all guests are.
