Place Cards (or Escort cards) are a cute essential detail usually matching your table plan and table number that is sometimes forgotten about once your guests have sat down. The job of the place card and table plan combined is to allow guests to find their seats swiftly.

Depending on where you live in the world, place cards can be sitting on the table at each guest’s place. Alternatively, place cards can be at the entrance to the wedding breakfast room. Each place card includes the guest’s name and table number, so they can choose where they sit at a table.
When your planning the look of your wedding decor every little detail counts but where to start. We have found some inspirational ideas for place cards for you to create yourself at home.
If your budget is stretched fear not, wedding place cards can easily be a quick and cheap wedding DIY.

Steal this style with a beautifully patterned card and a calligraphy pen. Alternatively, a fancy font if you feel like printing. Don’t forget to decorate (glitter, lace, or shaped cutter).
We love this idea of combining an edible wedding favour with the name of the recipient. Personalised favours and place settings score double brownie points.

Steal this style by finding cute little plant pots from your local garden centre and planting your favourite flower to give as a gift to your guests, or spray painting a large leaf with your chosen colour and writing names on after they have dried.
I also think you could use pebbles as place settings. If your stones are a reasonable size guests could write a message on so they could be used as an alternative guest book. I have seen these displayed in hurricane lanterns and used as home decor after the wedding.
We love these wedding place card ideas, apart from the fact they are super easy to create they would be a really cheap way to add affordable place cards.

Steal this style by purchasing slates from the local hardware shop or using chalkboard paint and writing your guests names on them, or hunting for pine cones in the park and sawing a slit through the centre to hold the name card.

Steal this style by spray painting little animal toys found in toy shops, or buying a lot of Scrabble games (or purchasing the tiles from your local hobby store in the Scrapbooking/Paper craft section).
